Positive: The Location is a positive and a negative. Positive because everything is close by being located in the centre of the city ( see below for negative. The place ( i.e. the bed, gym, pool, kitchen, ambiance at the entrance) the people ( their attitude, their approach) is great. The price is worth it given all this. The bedding is comfy and the room cooler and clean. Big kitchen with all the appliances and utensils but no toaster ( which is a common theme amongst hotel apartments). The laundry room has everything, washer, dryer, 2 heavy duty irons and a steamer. Impressive!
Negative: The location is also a nightmare as traffic is a major challenge, parking is hit and miss, on which you can end up spending 30 minutes getting one. My main issues were with the.fact there was no place to hangout there for men. The had outdoor seating which despite any cooler they offered was an impossible choice. People were hanging out on a part of the gym floor with the management rationalising the A/c use in the gym ( as they weren't using the gym) meaning the guests were essentially being forced to stay in their bunks or sit on the high chairs close to the reception (which you can't do so for too long). That also forced me to not use the gym in the afternoon and only in early the morning when no one was around, as I just didn't have the heart to ask those guests to leave. ( Where would they go) The kitchen had decent seating but that too was not a place to hangout for too long. Essentially they need a lounge for men which is air conditioned and with good sofas which by the way is available to the ladies, but not the men. The washrooms can get bad and I don't blame the management for that, in fact God bless Khalid who even cleaned it up for me late in the evening. The issue is that its either dirty or wet all the time. So every time you use it, it needs a clean. Second, across majority of apartments in Riyadh, rarely is the shower separated from the rest of the washroom, thus if you shower the whole washroom gets wet. Hence, where do you change. There are no also changing rooms. Again this is a design flaw the management can't do much about. So in short this place is great as an emergency place to stay economically in riyadh, but not for longer term stay in my view.
